Hi Lovelies,

So I am back and kicking off 2017 with a blog post on skincare. After the winter months I noticed my skin feeling and looking a bit duller than normal, despite doing my twice weekly exfoliating routine and using my clarisonic mia 2 there seemed to be very little change to my skin texture. I decided to get in touch with Lena Edberg of Västermalms Hudvård who is a certified skin therapist who recommended that I get the diamond microdermabrasion to restore my skin to its former glory.

For those of you who are not familiar with the procedure, do let me explain below:

Using a diamond tip dermabrasion machine the outer layers of the skin are exfoliated. This removes the outer layer of the skin and polishes your skin so you can see immediate results especially if you suffer from hyper pigmentation, acne scars or wrinkles around the eyes.

The products that Lena used on my skin were from two amazing brands:

  1. Esse Skincare: which is a vegan, fair trade and organic probiotic brand.

2. Zein Obagi Skin health :  their website claims that “ZO® Skin Health by Zein Obagi, MD products work from the inside out, activating and stimulating your skin’s cells to nourish, repair and maintain themselves. We use the most potent ingredients, high concentrations, pure retinol, advanced peptides, and powerful antioxidants and enzymes to make a visible difference in your skin”. I must say that the after effects were noticeable days after the treatment.

The procedure itself was painless, took approximately 1hr 30minutes including prep time and massage. I found Lena to be very professional, warm hearted and accommodating. I will be away travelling but upon my return you can trust and believe that I will be returning for a second treatment at Lena’s beauty parlour.

Here are a couple images of what my skin looked like during and afterwards:

Hi Lovelies!

Hope you are all geared up for the weekend and some fun. I know I am.

Today on the blog I wanted to continue down the path of Makeup equipment starting with brushes. Since you can find almost any brush in shops and its not dependent on skintone I thought I would begin with them. These are essential tools to help you achieve a flawless finish for yourself and for your clients.

In the video below I list my all time favorite tools ranging from beauty blenders to sigma brushes, affordable to high-end. You definitely do not have to get them all as I supply you with alternatives as cheap as 20 Swedish krona all the way up to 2000 Swedish krona and everything in between.

So check out the video and let me know which ones you already have, which ones you are getting and which ones you dislike.

Have a brilliant weekend!

Hi Lovelies,

This week i tried out the infamous Nivea after shave balm which has been hailed by Nikki Tutorials and other beauty lovers like Kylie jenner as a cheap option for primers. It has even been recommended as a moisturiser for those with oily skin.

Now i have extremely dry skin with a oily t zone so i thought this primer would be the ultimate holy grail to keep my makeup in place and looking fresh.

In the video below i prime my skin with the aftershave and applied my makeup as usual with no changes to my routine. The makeup was applied at 8am and i show you the final results at 6pm.

Now this is not my first trial with this product…i used t in gothenburg during my BlackVogue makeup and hair classes and ended up looking very sweaty in the face within two hours of application. I believed that it was due to my running around and stress but i got the exact same results this time around as well leading me to believe that this product is very unsuitable for my particular skin type…unless the glazed donut look is making its way back into fashion.

Anyway have a look at the video below and let me know your thoughts on this matter….am i rocking the dewy look well or was it a massive fail?

Hi Lovelies!

This week the long awaited palettes from Inglot for Black Vogue arrived safe and sound. I couldn’t be happier since it has been a long process for Sweden to have them created in Poland to be sentback to Stockholm.

Now before I go into the actual palettes let me just list so reasons why I love Inglot:

Reasonably priced products

Well pigmented eyeshadows and lipsticks

Covers 85% of the darker skin tone ranges

Houses every makeup need under one roof from skincare, brushes, bags, lashes, foundations, concealers, nail polish … you name it they have it.

They are the leading brand in Sweden for me as a woman of darker skintone since I am medium in tone and can just walk in and find all the products I need.

If you are in Sweden you can find Inglot in Stockholm at Mall of Scandinavia as well as in Malmö at Triangeln which is near Denmark.

So lets get started!

EyeShadow Palette!

The first Palette is an eyeshadow Palette….The colours are very pigmented and the diversity in colour allows me to create different looks from smoky eye to a nude no makeup look 😉 The eyeshadows can be converted to eyeliners using the Duraline from ingot so its a huge bonus for me.

Powder Highlighter!

The second Black Vogue Palette is a highlighter Trio. They are part of the Freedom System where you can put together your own palette. These two were the two trios that I particularly Love love loved! They work as a great highlight on my cheekbones and cupids bow and on my nose when i want that special glow from within. See images below:

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR THIS AMAZING BOX OF SURPRISE INGLOT!!!!!

Hi Lovelies,

Now it is no secret that one of my favourite and most used protective styling is Wigs. I find they help me protect my hair in the cold Swedish weather as well as help me grow out my natural hair. There is something completely invigorating with the idea of changing your hair and colour consistently without damaging your hair. Wigs are quite low maintenance and i wear my hair in cornrows underneath which makes my hair easy to maintain under the units, Cornrows allow me to moisturise consistently as well as co washing my hair and shampooing once a month.

I have 101 reasons why i love wigs as protective styling but here are just a few reasons why:

Pros

  • They come is a wide variety of styles, lengths and applications. From lace wigs to 3/4 wigs to quick weave wigs, they are very versatile.
  • Allow full access to your own hair for proper washing and deep conditioning.
  • Depending on the style of wig (some lace or upart wigs) they can be undetectable.

Here are a few wigs that i created for clients as well as a youtube video showing you how they look when i have them on.
